The title above is a link to the Mashable article covering the announcement.
Says Mashable: “The reports aren’t especially detailed, offering only the number of fans added, comments, likes, and visits in the past week.”
I’m a page admin for a handful of law firms and non-profits. Its something I have experience with and do for free to help brands/companies that I believe in. In the process, I’ve developed an interest in SEO, Web Analytics, and stats such as these. When I discovered this little gem of information in my inbox yesterday I sent out a short email to all of owners/officers for the pages that I am an admin for, asking if they had the same statistics, and explaining what some of the numbers mean and show. I’m an attorney, not a web developer or engineer, but the web is the future, and it fascinates me. If I can provide value to clients, firms I work for, and even friends through these skills though, then the time I spend is well worthwhile, lest we forget there are 400+ million relationships to create and people to appeal to on Facebook. To further to this end, the additional value I can provide in my career, I’ve found Facebook’s Insights feature for admins to be very useful as well; it can tell you details about your demographics, provide a longer look-back on your growth, and displays any engagement trends. Armed with this information marketing to the Facebook audience just got a little more sophisticated.
